For the Easter holidays at Pavilions Shopping Centre in Waltham Cross, we wanted to do something a little different. Something that would surprise visitors, get people talking, and bring families into the centre over the school holidays.
Enter: the XR Dinosaur Trail. 🦖
We partnered with a tech company to bring a 360°, app-free dinosaur experience to the heart of the shopping centre – a first for the area, and something totally fresh for local families.
Visitors simply scan a QR code at one of the five trail stops around the centre, and boom… a dinosaur appears in full AR right where they’re standing. No app to download. No headset. Just their phone and a sense of adventure. It’s all free, fully self-led, and just very cool.
It drives footfall and dwell time.
Creates shareable moments for social media.
Requires no staff or ongoing management.
