The Result
OnBrand provided the client with a structured approach for resolving a complicated historical Meta account connection while prioritising the protection of an Instagram account with approximately 218,000 followers.
The Challenge
A professional content creator approached OnBrand for specialist Meta support after experiencing problems connecting an established Instagram account with approximately 218,000 followers to a newly created Facebook Page.
The Instagram account had historical links to an old Facebook account that had been locked by Meta in 2021 and was no longer in use.
When the client attempted to connect the professional Instagram account to their new Facebook Page, Meta repeatedly redirected them towards the old, locked Facebook account.
The situation became more concerning when the client attempted to publish a Reel through the new Facebook Page and received an “unusual activity” identity verification warning.
Given the size and value of the Instagram audience, the client wisely stopped making further account changes to avoid triggering additional security restrictions.
The client required OnBrand to:
Industry: Food / Content Creator
Services: Instagram & Facebook Account Support, Meta Business Portfolio Consultancy
Meta Account Structure Review
OnBrand began by reviewing the relationship between the client’s:
The priority was to understand the existing structure before attempting to disconnect, reconnect or transfer any assets.
This was particularly important because unnecessary changes could have introduced additional security checks on an Instagram account with an established audience of approximately 218K followers.
Identifying the Historical Facebook Connection
The investigation focused on why Meta continued directing the client towards a Facebook account that had been locked since 2021.
OnBrand reviewed the historical account relationship and identified the areas that needed to be addressed before establishing a clean connection between the Instagram account and the new Facebook Page.
Rather than repeatedly attempting the connection and potentially triggering further automated security systems, the issue could then be approached through the appropriate Meta account recovery and ownership process.
Establishing the Correct Meta Structure
The objective was to create a clean and secure relationship between the client’s active assets:
Professional Instagram Account → Facebook Page → Meta Business Portfolio
This would provide a clearer ownership structure and allow the client to manage content and future advertising activity through the appropriate Meta environment without relying on the old Facebook account.
OnBrand provided the client with a structured approach for resolving a complicated historical Meta account connection while prioritising the protection of an Instagram account with approximately 218,000 followers.
